Battle Pope: Pantless carnage

Their name is Battle Pope. Their debut demo/EP is called “Pantless Carnage” and has song titles such as “Cocaine Yeehah Muthafucker Yeah!” and “800lbs of Squid”. It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to work out we’re in grind territory here. What isn’t obvious is what else they bring to the table – swing and funk. There may be only six minutes of music on this free to download (or with a donation) release, but it’s it’s six minutes of rocking, swinging, grooving and beer swilling fun. The songs are short but filled with great swinging riffs and hilarious shouted lyrics, plus there’s a couple of harmonica solos thrown in for good measure. Sure the last 4 minutes is a complete waste of time (4 minutes a soundgrab repeated over and over) but you can easily delete that shit. What’s important here is the six minutes that precedes that crap. It may be short release, but it sure is beer soaked fun.

7/10: Worth sparing the ten minutes it takes to go to their bandcamp page, download, unzip your pants and rock like Ron to.

After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
